This project involved redesigning one section of the Chatswood Station Foodcourt. The exiting space was designed for eating but it is not used and empty most of the time.With the majority of users being students who live around the area, the space was not suitable for study purpose so they weren’t engaging with the existing space. Noticing that the ceiling is pretty high and there is enough structural support, I planned to expand the area and add another layer above the ground. With the new plan, groups can study on the ground floor and on the first level there are individual study spaces, reading areas with bean bags and a standing study area.
